Ray Lemmens (hij/hen) is een Belgische danser, performer en maker. Zijn artistieke reis begon aan De!Kunsthumaniora in Antwerpen, waar hij afstudeerde in theater. Later breidde hij zijn artistieke en fysieke praktijk uit aan de Fontys Academy of the Arts, waar hij afstudeerde met een Bachelor in Dance Arts in Context.
Ray trad op in diverse producties, en begon als tiener met projecten voor organisaties zoals fABULEUS. Door de jaren heen bleef hij groeien binnen het veld en werkte hij samen met artiesten en gezelschappen zoals United-C, Anthony van Gog, Lea Ved, Lunatics and Poets, Barnaby Booth, Danielle Huyghe en anderen. In het seizoen 2024–2025 volgde hij een stage van een volledig jaar bij Poetic Disasters Club van Club Guy & Roni. Tijdens deze periode breidde hij zijn ervaring uit door te touren, creatieve processen te doorlopen en onderzoeksgedreven projecten te realiseren die zijn professionele ontwikkeling vormgaven.
Als maker is Rays drijfveer om werk te creëren geworteld in zijn fascinatie voor psychologische fenomenen en de manieren waarop deze zich manifesteren via het bewegende lichaam. Zijn huidige project, Lingering Past The Threshold, begon als een onderzoeks-/performanceproject tijdens zijn studie aan de Fontys Academy of the Arts. Deze onderzoeksversie werd sindsdien gepresenteerd bij Deltebre Dansa (ES), Enter Festival (NL), Dansproject (BE) en op andere platforms die opkomende makers ondersteunen. Het werk blijft zich ontwikkelen met de steun van Platform In De Maak en RADAR Mechelen.

Ray Lemmens (he/they) is a Belgian dancer, performer and maker. His artistic journey started at De!Kunsthumaniora in Antwerp, where he graduated in theatre. He later expanded his artistic and physical practice at the Fontys Academy of the Arts, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Dance Arts in Context.
Ray has performed in a wide range of productions, starting as a teenager with projects for organizations such as fABULEUS. Over the years, he has continued to grow within the field and has worked with artists and companies including United-C, Anthony van Gog, Lea Ved, Lunatics and Poets, Barnaby Booth, Danielle Huyghe, and others. In the 2024–2025 season, he completed a full-year internship with Poetic Disasters Club by Club Guy & Roni, expanding his experience through touring, creative processes, and research-driven projects that helped shape his professional development.
As a maker, Ray’s driving motivation for creating work is rooted in his fascination with psychological phenomena and the ways they manifest through the moving body. His current project, Lingering Past The Threshold, began as a research/performance during his studies at Fontys Academy of the Arts. This research version has since been presented at Deltebre Dansa (ES), Enter Festival (NL), Dansproject (BE), and on additional platforms supporting emerging makers. The work continues to evolve with the support of Platform In De Maak and RADAR Mechelen.
