Jacob Bousset (2002, België) omringde zich van kinds af aan met dans en theater in plaatselijke kunstscholen te Leuven. Tijdens zijn vroege artistieke opleiding bewoog hij zich tussen hedendaagse, klassieke en urban dans, op tekst gebaseerde performance en acrobatie. In 2018 voegde Jacob zich bij Compagnie Aira, een jeugdcompagnie onder leiding van Zoë Demoustier, en in 2021 werd hij lid van Jennifer Regidor’s Danscompagnie Lune. Na twee jaren van de bacheloropleiding in de biologie aan de KU Leuven te hebben afgerond, schakelde Jacob in 2022 over naar een professionele dansopleiding bij P.A.R.T.S. terwijl hij zijn biologiestudies deeltijds verderzette. Bij P.A.R.T.S. werkte hij samen met de choreografen Mette Ingvartsen, Ingri Fiksdal, Femke Gyselinck en Cassiel Gaube. Hij creëerde er bovendien de solovoorstellingen Preparing for Darkness en The Rünno Song en performde in Nicolas Dang’s It’s just a phase. In zijn laatste jaar bij P.A.R.T.S. liep Jacob stage bij Zoë Demoustier tijdens de onderzoeksfase voor Hear the Silence en was hij een actief lid van de organisatie van Fracta Festival. Momenteel rondt Jacob zijn bachelor in de biologie af, terwijl hij bij Mette Ingvartsen danst, zijn rol als artistiek assistent bij Zoë Demoustier verderzet, stage loopt bij Femke Gyselinck/GRIP, en met Jits Van Damme de creatie Seasonal Hierarchies maakt onder de vleugels van Platform in de Maak en Danspunt.

Jacob Bousset (2002, Belgium) immersed himself in dance and theater from a young age in local art schools in Leuven. His early artistic education led him through classical, contemporary and urban dance, alongside text-based performance and acrobatics. In 2018, Jacob joined Compagnie Aira, a local youth company led by Zoë Demoustier, and he joined Jennifer Regidor’s Danscompagnie Lune in 2021. After completing two years of bachelor studies in biology at KU Leuven, Jacob transitioned to a professional dance education at P.A.R.T.S. in 2022 while continuing his biology studies part-time. At P.A.R.T.S., he worked with choreographers such as Mette Ingvartsen, Ingri Fiksdal, Femke Gyselinck and Cassiel Gaube. He also created the solo works Preparing for Darkness and The Rünno Song and performed in Nicolas Dang’s It’s just a phase. During his final year at P.A.R.T.S., Jacob did an internship with Zoë Demoustier as part of the research phase for Hear the Silence and was an active member of the organization of Fracta Festival. Currently, while finishing his bachelor’s degree in biology, Jacob continues his role of artistic assistant with Zoë Demoustier, takes part in an internship with Femke Gyselinck/GRIP, dances for Mette Ingvartsen and creates the work Seasonal Hierarchies with Jits Van Damme under the wings of Platform in de Maak and Danspunt.
