Margherita Dello Sbarba is choreograaf, danser en mede-oprichter van Uncanny Paradise vzw. Na haar opleiding als actrice in Italië studeerde ze af in Hedendaagse Dans aan de Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Keulen. Haar meest recente creatie, A Small World, mede geregisseerd met Alexandros Anastasiadis en ontwikkeld samen met de muzikanten en dansers van Dans Kapot, werd gecoproduceerd door JazzLab, Kunstencentrum KAAP, Werf Records en Kunstencentrum NONA, met steun van het Kunstendecreet van de Vlaamse overheid. De voorstelling ging in première op het Amok Festival 2024 en toerde in België en Griekenland.
Momenteel werkt Margherita aan twee nieuwe creaties: Canon of Love, een duet met Alexandros Anastasiadis, en to tread the salty deep, haar nieuwe solo, ondersteund door RADAR en Platform In De Maak.
Haar artistieke praktijk focust op feministische ecologieën en vertrekt steeds vanuit interdisciplinaire samenwerkingen met onder meer architectuur, beeldende kunst, muziek en literatuur. Haar werk wordt gekenmerkt door een sterke visuele esthetiek die zintuiglijke en poëtische landschappen oproept, waarin ook niet-menselijke elementen worden verwelkomd om de ervaring van menselijke emotie te verruimen. In Canon of Love worden rivieren een expressieve metafoor voor liefde, terwijl to tread the salty deep een hybride wereld vormgeeft — natuurlijk en industrieel, vrouw-dier, mens-plant — waarin een erotische vrouwelijke energie kan verschijnen.
Naast haar choreografisch werk stimuleert Margherita artistieke uitwisseling door het organiseren en faciliteren van FEED!, een maandelijks feedbackmoment, en POLLINATE, een jam voor muzikanten en dansers. Ze zet zich sterk in voor het ontwikkelen van collaboratieve, minder individualistische vormen van artistieke praktijk.
Als performer werkte Margherita samen met choreografen zoals Ceren Oran, Sonia Franken, Julia Riera en Smadar Goshen. Sinds 2024 danst ze bij Nyash/Caroline Cornelis.

Margherita Dello Sbarba is a choreographer, dancer, and co-founder of Uncanny Paradise vzw. After training as an actress in Italy, she graduated in Contemporary Dance at the University for Music and Dance in Cologne. Her latest creation, A Small World, co-directed with Alexandros Anastasiadis and developed with the musicians and dancers of Dans Kapot, was co-produced by JazzLab, Kunstencentrum KAAP, Werf Records, and Kunstencentrum NONA, with support from the Flemish Ministry’s Kunstendecreet. Premiering at the 2024 Amok Festival, the piece toured in Belgium and Greece. Margherita is currently working on two new creations: Canon of Love, a duet with Alexandros Anastasiadis, and to tread the salty deep, her upcoming solo, supported by RADAR and Platform In De Maak.
Her artistic practice focuses on feminist ecologies and always explores interdisciplinary collaborations, with disciplines like architecture, visual art, music and literature.
Her work is characterized by a strong visual esthetic which evokes sensory and poetic landscapes, welcoming non-human elements to expand the experience of human emotion. In Canon of Love, rivers become an expressive metaphor for love, while to tread the salty deep shapes a hybrid world—natural and industrial, woman-animal, human-plant—where erotic female energy can emerge.
Beyond her choreographic work, Margherita fosters artistic exchange by organizing and facilitating FEED!, a monthly feedback event, and POLLINATE, a jam for musicians and dancers. She is deeply committed to cultivating collaborative, less individualistic modes of artistic practice.
As a performer, Margherita has worked with choreographers including Ceren Oran, Sonia Franken, Julia Riera, and Smadar Goshen. Since 2024, she has been dancing with Nyash/Caroline Cornelis.
