Mimi Wascher

Mimi Wascher

Mimi is a performing artist (mainly dance) and maker, working on the intersection of visual and performing arts. Since 2019 she has been performing for various artists, including Théo Mercier, Steven Michel, Ruben Mardulier, Guy Nader & Maria Campos and the dance company tout petit. All of them have been and still are great inspirations for her, as they are either working intersectional/interdisciplinary themselves or have a strong affinity for the visual aspects of performance. Since 2021 Mimi creates her own work in collaboration with other artists. The collaboration with dance artist Anne-Lene Nöldner has been ongoing and is a valuable connection for her, which grows in its diversity while they find themselves in different roles with and for each other. Mimi's works are mostly abstract interpretations of philosophical questions/suggestions with a focus on feminism and body politics. She aims to create atmospheres that give space to complexity and a non-verbal poetic relationship between a body and its surrounding. Currently Mimi is working on her first solo project called 'BLUE' - a series of works that investigates our relationship to color and object.
