Claudia Quaglia

Claudia Quaglia, artistiek bekend als Misfit, is een multidisciplinaire performer en creatief organisator, gevestigd in Amsterdam.

Haar werk beweegt zich vloeiend tussen beweging, beeldende kunst en storytelling, en is geworteld in een community-gerichte benadering en een sterk gevoel voor spontaniteit. Haar praktijk is zowel persoonlijk als collectief en maakt van het creatieve proces een ruimte om dankbaarheid voor het leven te delen en nieuwe deuren te openen voor anderen.

Claudia werd geboren en groeide op in Italië, waar dans haar eerste liefde was. Als tiener ontdekte ze de stijl waacking en raakte ze actief betrokken bij de internationale street- en clubdansscene. Doorheen de jaren evolueerde haar bewegingsstijl tot een samensmelting van haar invloeden, sterk verbonden met jazz-footwork-fundamenten en funkstijlen.

In 2022 verhuisde Claudia naar Nederland, waar haar artistieke traject zich uitbreidde naar theater en performancekunst. Sindsdien trad ze op en produceerde ze in eigen beheer voorstellingen, tentoonstellingen, kortfilms en publieke evenementen in Nederland, België en Italië. In 2024 ontving ze haar eerste subsidie om nieuw werk te creëren, wat een nieuw hoofdstuk markeert in haar verdere artistieke ontwikkeling.

Claudia Quaglia, known artistically as Misfit, is a multidisciplinary performer and creative organiser based in Amsterdam.

Her work moves fluidly between movement, visual art, and storytelling, rooted in a community-focused approach and a strong sense of spontaneity. Her practice is both personal and collective, turning the creative process into a space to share gratitude for life and to open new doors for others.

Born and raised in Italy, dance was her first love. As a teenager, she discovered the style of Waacking and became actively involved in the worldwide street and club dance scene. Over time, her movement has evolved into a blend of her influences — deeply connected to jazz footwork foundations and funk styles.

In 2022, Claudia relocated to the Netherlands, where her artistic journey expanded into theatre and performance art. Since then, she has performed and independently produced performances, exhibitions, short films, and public events across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy. In 2024, she received her first subsidy to create original work, marking a new chapter in her ongoing creative evolution.
