Lingering past the threshold

Terwijl de werkelijkheid afstand neemt, ervaar ik kleine flikkerende verschuivingen
De houten muren zweren te snel hun ontschuld,
ze liegen recht in mijn gezicht
Ik vind mezelf, uiteengespat als glas, op de vloer
Terwijl ik mijn waardigheid bij elkaar veeg, probeer ik te vinden waar ik mijn besef van werkelijkheid verloren ben.
Ben jij eigenlijk wel werkelijkheid?
Ik beef
Cola of wijn?
Ik slik mezelf in zijn geheel door en spuug het uit in het onbekende
Ik wil oog in oog staan met werkelijkheid,
Om te zeggen dat ze haar vorm verloren heeft.

As reality takes its distance, I sense small flickering shifts
The wooden walls swear their innocence too quickly,
they are lying straight to my face
I find myself shattered on the floor like glass
Whilst sweeping up my dignity, I am trying to locate where I lost my sense of reality
Are you even reality?
I tremble
Cola or wine?
I swallow myself whole and spit it out into the unknown
I want to get up close to reality,
and tell it that it has lost its shape.
