Antigone

Text theatre

Antigone

What started as a graduation performance ended in an ongoing investigation into the story of Antigone. In Barbara's version, it is only one actor who breathes life into Sophocles' text, as a medium that focuses conflicts. The spectator is a witness and gradually becomes an opponent. Space is a place of imagination where the line between looking and playing becomes blurred. Or in the words of Ismene: “I did it. I'm equally guilty. I want to be equally guilty.”

Together with Eva Michiels she filmed the first scene of this adaptation.
