Contact:
'Shall we - Archive of possibilities to meet' is an interactive performance in the form of an intimate archive. 'Shall we' offers various options for meeting.
During a visit to the archive, you are invited to meet a fellow visitor in a playful and unconventional way through the archive documents, which consist of assignments and associated objects. For example, 'Shall we' is an invitation to put aside the unwritten rules of our daily interactions and replace them with a new playful experiment.

Merel Stolker builds her art practice around human contact. As someone who often struggles with (love) relationships and feelings of loneliness, she is surprised that we rarely think about all the social rules that unnoticed shape our interactions. Within an art practice that is located at the intersection of performance, visual art and social artistic work, she tries to question and deepen our social contact.
Merel obtained a bachelor's degree in Autonomous Visual Arts from AKV|St.Joost Den Bosch (NL) and a master's degree in Autonomous Design from KASK and CONSERVATORIUM School of Arts Ghent. During and after these studies she set up various participatory art projects, among others in collaboration with Maneuver Ghent, i-mens Seniorcity Ghent, Arts in Society Awards and Academy for Image Formation Den Bosch (NL). She also participated with her work in various exhibitions and festivals such as: CARING=SHARING in Schouwburg Kortrijk and Dutch Design Week: For Play, Shaping Sexuality at MU, Eindhoven (NL).
