Fragments of Silent Theatrical Spaces

Gilles builds theatrical spaces in which he reveals theatricality and where he uses the backstage as a scenographic concept. His work has its origins in theater, and how he experiences theater. It is about a love, an interest and passion for theater. Techniques are not just paraphernalia for making theater, but are an inspiration.

His work allows the viewer to experience theater from a backstage point of view. Gilles placed his work in the entrance hall of the Stadsschouwburg, where it creates a duality with the model shown. The work shows a transition from the backstage to an empty theater.
