WERKEN IN DE MAAK
Mimi Wascher – Dreaming in Blue
14:00-14:30 and 18:00-18:30
For Dreaming in Blue Mimi creates a shapeshifting world in which different matters (human and non-human) are seeking companionship, try to merge with each other and are robbed of their identity. With humour and abstraction, as well as the poetic and feminist ideas proposed by Maggie Nelson in Bluets, Mimi explores how the color blue can become a space to escape from codified identity and simplification, and instead make room for the complexity of our needs and desires. “But what goes on in you when you talk about colour as if it were a cure, when you have not yet stated your disease.” (M. Nelson - Bluets)

Jorien Onsia – Brittle Pride
16:30-17:00 and 20:30-21:00
How can we be proud, yet permeable in this world? Being proud seems a necessity to engage and at the same time a risk to impose. A way to reveal yourself as well as a shield to protect us from external harm. Proudness brings us together and shuts us off. Is there a brittle or permeable way to be proud? To let out and let in? In this solo Jorien Onsia researches the duality of pride through its iconography and embodiment.

Valeria Secchi - mean_meal
15:00-15:30 and 19:00-19:30 + ongoing installation
mean_meal is the working title of a transdisciplinary project of immersive potential, at the intersection of visual art, music and movement, with the aim of creating spaces to manifest and accept iridescent identities within the human body. Through food, reuse of waste, and material experimentation we activate wearable sculptures in order to discuss normativity. A collective space of trust is created to dive in shared vulnerabilities where the biomaterial and the moving body align and resemble each other. mean_meal facilitates empathic identification by presenting cyclical and alternative narratives that involve the sharing of traumas, the process of mourning, and pathways to healing. Here costume design aspires to be an activator for social renewal, while promoting productive and emotional sustainability for the individual.

16:00-16:30 en 20:00-20:30
Johannes Lievens traveled to a six-centuries-spanning concert, encountered people who taught him something about the subject of 'being saved'. He is writing a new play about it.
